Rautenberg Moritz & Co. advises Mitsui on the investment in German ride pooling service CleverShuttle.
The team around Arndt Rautenberg advised Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co. Ltd. on the minority investment in GHT Mobility GmbH, operator of the leading German ride pooling expert CleverShuttle.
Mitsui & Co. Ltd. is a Japanese conglomerate and the largest company in the Mitsui Group. The company is active in areas such as mobility, infrastructure, steel, energy and healthcare and generated sales of around 63 billion US dollars with almost 5,000 employees in the past fiscal year. It was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
CleverShuttle was founded in 2014 by three Berlin school friends and is the leading ride pooling expert in Germany. The company offers ride pooling in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Kiel and Leipzig and places great importance to environmentally friendly and affordable door-to-door mobility by professional drivers. An algorithm is employed to bring people with similar destinations in a given city together to form carpools. This makes better use of the seating capacity in cars and reduces traffic congestion. CleverShuttle also closes gaps in urban traffic concepts. Battery-electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles contribute to sustainable and modern mobility.
The team around Arndt Rautenberg advised the investor throughout the process, in particular through the development of a Commercial Due Diligence and a Value Creation Plan for the company.
