Arndt
Rautenberg

Managing Partner

Arndt is the founder and Managing Partner of Rautenberg & Company. He has extensive experience in advising financial investors and their portfolio companies as well as corporations in all aspects of transactions, ranging from corporate finance and M&A to commercial and strategic advisory services. His special sector expertise is in Tech, Media and Telecom, albeit he has also advised many transactions in other verticals.

After completing his studies of business administration at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and at Georgetown University, he started his professional career in 1994 at Boston Consulting Group. In 2000, he and two partners founded a technology advisory and investment firm which they later successfully sold to Sapient, a NASDAQ-listed technology corporation based in Cambridge, USA. After several years as an executive board member of Sapient and Head of Europe, Arndt was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of Deutsche Telekom, where he was responsible for both the group’s strategy development as well as the portfolio management.

Since leaving in 2008, Arndt has focused on advising financial sponsors and strategic investors in all phases of a transaction and grown Rautenberg & Company into the leading German integrated strategy and corporate finance boutique.

Philipp
v. Hochberg

Managing Partner

Philipp is a Managing Partner of Rautenberg & Company and works out of our Frankfurt office. For more than 20 years, he has advised family-owned companies and their shareholders, private equity houses, entrepreneurs and managers on M&A transactions and financing. His major focus is on transactions in the industrial sector such as machinery & equipment and industrial goods as well as in consumer goods/retail.

Philipp holds a graduate degree in economics from the University of Bonn. Alongside his studies in economics, he also studied political and historical science. As an advisor to principals, Philipp is an entrepreneur himself; for more than 12 years, he was shareholder and Managing Partner of C H Reynolds Corporate Finance AG, which he established with his co-founders in the German M&A market. Earlier positions in his career include Doertenbach & Co. in Frankfurt, Ernst & Young in Berlin. Philipp co-founded the M&A specialised transaction boutique Bassewitz & Hochberg in Frankfurt who merged with us in 2018.

Gero
Steinroeder

Managing Partner

Gero is a Managing Partner in our Düsseldorf office. He advises investors, portfolio companies and corporates on M&A transactions, corporate finance matters and strategic initiatives. His primary focus is on technology- and infrastructure-driven business models, particularly in digital infrastructure, data centers and infrastructure-related business services.

Gero studied Engineering and Business Administration at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Queen’s University in Canada and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He also graduated with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management (USA), where he earned his MBA.

He began his career in 1999 as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, advising clients across the TMT sector. He subsequently joined Nokia’s Venture Organization, where he led the successful growth of a mobile internet start-up. He later advised on numerous international M&A transactions within Nokia’s newly established Software & Services business unit before building and leading the Consumer Analytics & Insights function.

After co-founding Numerus Capital, a privately managed quantitative hedge fund, Gero joined Rautenberg & Company in 2015. Since then, he has advised on numerous domestic and international M&A transactions.

Eike Gerrit
Büllingen

Partner

Eike is Partner and works out of our Düsseldorf office. He is an experienced growth strategist and M&A-enabler with a strong track record in Smart Infrastructure, Building Technology Solutions and Cybersecurity. Eike has built his deep expertise across a three-digit number of Value Creation & Exit Readiness Programmes, Commercial Due Diligences as well as M&A Lead Advisory projects. Eike joined us back in 2014, bringing professional experience from different positions in venture capital, strategy and transaction advisory.

He holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. In Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and benefits from years of international experience gathered in China, Ireland, Japan, Spain and the UK.
