Gero is a Managing Partner in our Düsseldorf office. He advises investors, portfolio companies and corporates on M&A transactions, corporate finance matters and strategic initiatives. His primary focus is on technology- and infrastructure-driven business models, particularly in digital infrastructure, data centers and infrastructure-related business services.
Gero studied Engineering and Business Administration at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Queen’s University in Canada and the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand. He also graduated with distinction from the Kellogg School of Management (USA), where he earned his MBA.
He began his career in 1999 as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, advising clients across the TMT sector. He subsequently joined Nokia’s Venture Organization, where he led the successful growth of a mobile internet start-up. He later advised on numerous international M&A transactions within Nokia’s newly established Software & Services business unit before building and leading the Consumer Analytics & Insights function.
After co-founding Numerus Capital, a privately managed quantitative hedge fund, Gero joined Rautenberg & Company in 2015. Since then, he has advised on numerous domestic and international M&A transactions.
