Partners

Our Partners are a highly experienced team of strategy, corporate finance and private equity professionals around our founder, Arndt Rautenberg. As well as driving the overall business, they also take an active role in each of our projects – usually working in teams of two.

Managing Partner

Arndt is the founder and Managing Partner of Rautenberg & Company and heads up our Düsseldorf office. He has vast experience in advising financial investors and their portfolio companies as well as corporations. His special expertise is in strategy development and value creation as well as in corporate finance and M&A.

He started his professional career in 1994 at Boston Consulting Group, after completing his studies of business administration at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management and at Georgetown University. In 2000, he and two partners founded a technology investment and advisory firm which they later successfully sold to Sapient, a NASDAQ-listed technology corporation based in Cambridge, USA. After several years as an executive board member of Sapient, Arndt was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of Deutsche Telekom, where he was responsible for both the group’s strategy development as well as the portfolio management. Since leaving in 2008, Arndt has focused on advising financial sponsors and strategic investors in all phases of a transaction.

PHILIPP v. HOCHBERG

Managing Partner

Philipp is a Managing Partner of Rautenberg & Company and works out of our Frankfurt office. For more than 20 years, he has advised family-owned companies and their shareholders, private equity houses, entrepreneurs and managers on M&A transactions and financing. His major focus is on transactions in the industrial sector such as machinery & equipment and industrial goods as well as in consumer goods/retail.

Philipp holds a graduate degree in economics from the University of Bonn. Alongside his studies in economics, he also studied political and historical science. As an advisor to principals, Philipp is an entrepreneur himself; for more than 12 years, he was shareholder and Managing Partner of C H Reynolds Corporate Finance AG, which he established with his co-founders in the German M&A market. Earlier positions in his career include Doertenbach & Co. in Frankfurt, Ernst & Young in Berlin. Philipp co-founded the M&A specialised transaction boutique Bassewitz & Hochberg in Frankfurt who merged with us in 2018.

Gero Steinroeder

Gero Steinroeder

Managing Partner

Gero is a Managing Partner in our Düsseldorf office. He has vast expertise in developing and executing growth-oriented value creation initiatives as well as strategic transformations for both smaller companies (including start-ups) and larger corporations.

Gero studied engineering and business administration at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Queen’s University (Canada) and the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand). In addition, he holds an MBA with distinction from Kellogg School of Management (USA).

Gero started his professional career as a strategy consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, mainly advising clients from the telecoms, media, high-tech and digital industries. He then joined Nokia Venture Organization to successfully grow a mobile internet venture, before ramping up the newly created Nokia Consumer Data & Analytics function. After co-founding Numerus Capital, a privately held quantitative hedge fund, he joined us in 2015. Today, he predominantly advises technology clients on strategic and financing topics as well as in transactions.

Boris Herzog

Boris Herzog

Partner

Boris is a Partner and works out of our Frankfurt office.

He focuses on deal execution, particularly commercial due diligences including the development of financial/operating models and business plans, as well as value creation assignments such as strategy development, PMI and exit preparation.

Boris joined us in 2014 after his MBA at IE Business School (Madrid, Spain), where he graduated on the Dean’s List of Honours. He started his professional career in 2007 with Arthur D. Little, where he worked in the operations and strategy practices across diverse industries. Boris holds degrees in Computer Science and Operations Management from ESB Reutlingen and ESC Lille.

Britta Hornung-Schweter

Britta Hornung-Schweter

Partner

Britta is a Partner and works out of our Düsseldorf office.

She is an experienced M&A professional and advises buyers and sellers in national and cross-border transactions. One of her focal points is financial modelling, combined with business and value creation planning, often in the course of commercial due diligences.

Britta joined us from the deal advisory practice of KPMG where she successfully advised SMEs as well as private equity clients on M&A transactions in Germany and the UK, with transaction volumes of up to several billion Euros.

Britta acquired in-depth finance and M&A knowledge during her business administration studies (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at Maastricht University, the Netherlands, and University of Victoria, Canada.

Eike Gerrit Büllingen

Eike Gerrit Büllingen

Partner

Eike is Partner and works out of our Düsseldorf office.

He is an experienced strategist, specialising in growth scenarios and their implementation. His second focus is on deal execution and facilitation on the buy- and sell-side, including the preparation of commercial due diligences. Eike is our Sector Head for Media & Entertainment, has successfully operated across our further verticals and especially made a name for himself in the Digital Infrastructure space.

Eike joined us back in 2014, bringing professional experience from different positions in venture capital, strategy and transaction advisory. He holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and benefits from years of international experience gathered in China, Ireland, Japan, Spain and the UK.
