Rautenberg & Company advises UBS-AM on the acquisition of Lünecom.
Our team supported UBS Asset Management (UBS-AM) Real Estate & Private Markets (REPM) on the acquisition of Lünecom Kommunikationslösungen GmbH (Lünecom). Closing of the transaction took place in August 2021 and marks UBS-AM’s first fiber investment in Germany.
UBS-AM is a large-scale investment manager with a presence in 23 markets, offering investment capabilities and investment styles across all major traditional and alternative asset classes. The infrastructure platform manages around USD 5.1 billion globally across infrastructure sectors including transportation, utilities, telecommunications, energy and social infrastructure via direct equity and debt investments.
Lünecom, founded in 1995 and headquartered in Lüneburg, is an integrated fiber infrastructure operator in Northern Germany offering super-fast internet via fiber to the home as well as IP telephony and IPTV, particularly in rural areas. Together with UBS-AM, Lünecom plans to invest a further EUR 160 million to bring fiber to more than 100,000 homes and expand to a further 50,000 homes in target areas across Northern Germany.
Our team around Arndt Rautenberg supported UBS-AM throughout the acquisition process with an integrated Commercial & Technical Due Diligence as well as with value creation planning and strategic advice.
