Rautenberg & Company advises iCON Infrastructure and Strategic Fiber Networks Group on an initial debt financing.
Our team advised iCON Infrastructure (“iCON”) and Strategic Fiber Networks Group (“SFN Group”) on an initial debt financing of EUR 95 million which can be increased to support additional growth plans. We had previously lead iCON’s acquisition of a controlling interest in three German fiber-related businesses, ropa GmbH & Co KG, NGN Telecom GmbH and Wisotel GmbH, together forming SFN Group. The sale was carried out by companies led by LABcom Investment GmbH and closed in October 2021.
iCON Infrastructure is an independent investment group with approximately USD 5 billion of assets under management, focusing on privately held mid-market investments in infrastructure assets in Europe and North America. iCON is a long-term investor with investments across its funds spanning a range of infrastructure sectors, including telecommunications, water, transportation, energy generation, distribution and storage.
Strategic Fiber Networks Group has the strategic goal of developing into one of the leading German fiber groups. It is primarily active in the German federal states of Baden Wuerttemberg and Lower Saxony and intends to use its funding to upgrade (FTTC to FTTH transition) and expand the group’s fiber networks.
Our team around Arndt Rautenberg supported iCON and SFN Group in the initial debt financing process with an integrated Commercial and Technical Due Diligence.
