Rautenberg & Company advised InfraRed and Deutsche GigaNetz on a capital increase through an investment by DWS Group.
Our team advised InfraRed Capital Partners Ltd and Deutsche GigaNetz GmbH on a capital increase in the company through an investment by DWS Group. The signing took place in June 2022, closing on September 6, 2022. Having already accompanied the arrangement of the first financing round in July 2020, this is our second successful engagement for InfraRed and Deutsche GigaNetz.
InfraRed Capital Partners is an international infrastructure investment manager, managing USD 14+ billion of equity capital, investing in real assets which contribute positively to society. It operates worldwide from offices in London, New York, Sydney and Seoul. InfraRed is a part of SLC Management, the institutional alternatives and traditional asset management business of Sun Life.
Deutsche GigaNetz builds and operates fiber-optic networks in Germany and provides sustainable broadband connections in underserved areas. The Hamburg-based company, which was only founded in 2019, aims to significantly exceed its initial business plan with the additional growth capital. This initial plan envisaged to connect more than one million residential and corporate customers as well as public institutions and carrier customers with state-of-the-art fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) services.
DWS Group is one of the world's leading asset managers, investing in infrastructure assets since 1994. As part of the Alternatives platform, the direct infrastructure equity business has EUR 13 billion of assets under management, with offices in London and New York.
Our team around Arndt Rautenberg advised InfraRed Capital Partners and Deutsche GigaNetz as sole financial advisor and led the entire M&A process up to the successful conclusion of the transaction.
